“The effect of Diagnostic X-rays on the Fetus (between 8–15 weeks)  During pregnancy among females in Makkah, KSA”

Abstract :

Researchers in Makkah, KSA, want to draw some conclusions on how diagnostic X-rays affect unborn children. Diagnostic imaging of pregnant women is on the rise despite healthcare practitioners’ awareness of the risks to embryonic and fetal health from radiation exposure. For tertiary data collection, relevant literature was perused. This evaluation included particular radiation effects on pregnant women and their unborn children, X-ray hazards according to gestational age, and other possible health impacts of diagnostic imaging techniques on pregnant women. To further address ethical concerns, we have worked to improve communication in order to reduce the amount of radiation that pregnant women and their unborn children are exposed to.

مستخلص البحث :

يهدف البحث إلى معالجة القصور في استخدام التقنية في إيصال المفاهيم الرياضية من خلال تسليط الضوء على المفاهيم الرياضية وأهميتها، وأهم التقنيات الحديثة التي يمكن استخدامها في تنمية هذه المفاهيم، واعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي الاستقرائي من خلال الاطلاع على أهم ما تناولته الأدبيات والدراسات السابقة حول تنمية المفاهيم الرياضية باستخدام التقنيات الحديثة للتعلم، والبحث في المصادر التعليمية الإلكترونية حول أهم هذه التقنيات وتوضيح آلية توظيفها في تدريس الرياضيات لإيصال مفاهيمها لدى الطالبات، وتوصل البحث إلى أهمية توظيف تقنيات التعلم كافة أنواعها في إيصال المفاهيم الرياضية، لكون هذه التقنيات منحت الطلاب فرصة للمشاركة الفاعلة في تعلمهم، كما أنها وفرت له العديد من الميزات المرنة التي تساعده على استيعاب المفاهيم الرياضية وفق قدراته العقلية ومهاراته لكونها لا تقيده بوقت محدد لكي يتعلم وتمكنه من تكرار المشاهدة أكثر من مرة وتوفر له تغذية راجعة آلية لا تحرجه أمام أقرانه إذا أخطاء، كما أن ما توفره من أدوات وميزات جذابة مثل الألعاب التعليمية والفيديوهات التفاعلية والصور المتحركة والصور والأشكال والمجسمات ثلاثية الأبعاد كلها تجعل التعلم أكثر متعة وتشويقًا، وهو ما يجعلها أكثر فعالية في استيعاب المفاهيم الرياضية.

“Formulation and optimization of Pantoprazole Sodium oral film”

Abstract
Oral films are a novel drug delivery system that consists of oral strips (solid dosage form) that dissolve or disintegrate in the oral cavity within seconds. This dosage form is readily administered by placing the strip or film on the patient’s tongue.
Pantoprazole is a Proton-pump inhibitor used in the management of ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD); Pantoprazole is a lipophilic drug with a weak base and poor aqueous solubility at acidic ph. It is unstable in a low pH medium and undergoes rapid acid-catalyzed degradation. The study aims to overcome the degradation of Pantoprazole in an acidic environment and enzymatic degradation through first-pass metabolism along with the formulation of an oral film based on a polymeric matrix of Polyvinyl alcohol, Polyvinyl pyrrolidinone, and pullulan for the delivery of Pantoprazole through the oral mucosa. The Oral films were commonly manufactured via solvent casting method in an aqueous or hydro-alcoholic mixture of excipient with active pharmaceutical ingredients being cast into a surface, dried, and cut into the desired size. the prepared film exhibited acceptable folding endurance value; The time required for the film to disintegrate was found to be within few seconds 44-55 seconds, due to the water-soluble polymers used in the formulation.

Abstract :
Background : The cause, physiological changes, predictive value, and associated health problems of coronary artery ectasia (CAE) is still not agreed upon by experts.
Objectives : The aim of our study was to evaluate the baseline coronary flow in individuals with coronary artery ectasia and investigate the impact of intravenous nitroglycerin on coronary flow through the use of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
Methodology : A total of forty participants were sequentially enrolled in the trial, and all of them underwent elective coronary angiography. The subjects were categorized into two groups based on the findings of elective coronary angiography. Group I consisted of 30 patients with confirmed coronary artery ectasia (CAE) but no stenosis in the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). Group II comprised of 10 individuals with normal coronary arteries, serving as the control group. Each participant performed transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) utilizing pulsed wave Doppler to quantify peak systolic and diastolic velocities (m/sec), systolic, diastolic, and total velocity time integrals (cm), as well as systolic, diastolic, and total coronary blood flow (cm/min). Following intravenous administration of 0.3 mg (300µgm) of nitroglycerin (NTG), all participants were reassessed for the previously measured parameters.

At its core, the research explores the dynamic interactions between teachers and students, assessing how these relationships contribute to or hinder the learning process. It also examines the effectiveness of the teaching methods employed, considering whether they stimulate intellectual curiosity and foster a deep understanding of medical concepts. Additionally, the study investigates the support systems in place for students, particularly those who may experience stress or other challenges, to determine how well these mechanisms function in alleviating their concerns and promoting their well-being. The overall atmosphere of the learning environment is another key focus, as it plays a significant role in shaping students’ motivation, engagement, and satisfaction with their education. By using a detailed questionnaire, the research gathers and analyzes the perceptions of students regarding these aspects of their educational experience. The goal is not only to paint a clear picture of the current state of the learning environment but also to identify specific areas that may require improvement. Through this evaluation, the research aims to provide valuable insights that can inform efforts to enhance the quality of medical education at University of tabuk, ensuring that it meets the highest standards and effectively prepares students for their future roles in the healthcare field.

“أثر الممارسات القيادية على جوانب تنظيم بيئة العمل في الجهات الحكومية بدولة قطر”
الملخص

سعى هذا البحث إلى دراسة تأثير الممارسات القيادية على تنظيم بيئة العمل داخل الجهات الحكومية في دولة قطر، وكذلك استكشاف تأثير التحفيز ومستوى التوثيق في القطاع الحكومي على تنظيم بيئة العمل في قطر واستخدمت الدراسة نهجًا تحليليًا وصفيًا، حيث تم توزيع استبيان إلكترونيًا واستكماله من قبل 81 مشاركًا من الجهات الحكومية. تم تحليل البيانات التي تم جمعها باستخدام SPSS، باستخدام طرق إحصائية مختلفة بما في ذلك حساب المتوسطات وتحليل الانحدار الخطي ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون كما أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى العديد من النتائج الرئيسية، هناك علاقة طردية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الممارسات القيادية وتنظيم بيئة العمل في الجهات الحكومية في قطر فهناك علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مستوى التحفيز وتنظيم بيئة العمل في الجهات الحكومية في قطر وهناك علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مستوى التوثيق في القطاع الحكومي وتنظيم بيئة العمل في الجهات الحكومية في قطر، كما أن الممارسات الديموقراطية هي الممارسات القيادية السائدة بشكل عام في الجهات الحكومية القطرية ووجود تحديات تتعلق بعدم توازن التوزيع الهرمي وملاحظات على فعالية بعض السياسات التنظيمية وفي وقت لاحق، خلصت الدراسة إلى توصيات تؤكد على ضرورة تعزيز ثقافة القيادة التشاركية والتعاونية، وتقييم الهياكل التنظيمية والسياسات الداخلية لتعزيز التوازن الهرمي، وتحسين التواصل والتعاون بين الإدارات، فضلا عن الدعوة لممارسات الاتصال الداخلي وتسهيل التعاون بين الإدارات المختلفة.

الملخص

يهدف هذا البحث الى استكشاف كيفية تأثير استراتيجيات الادارة المدرسية على تقليل الفجوات في مستويات الذكاء بين الطلاب وبالتالي تعزيز التفوق الاكاديمي في المدارس الخاصة في عمان يتمحور البحث حول دراسة الاساليب الادارية المختلفة التي يمكن استخدامها لتحقيق هذا الهدف مثل التخصيص الفردي للتعليم وتطبيق تقنيات تعليمية مبتكرة وتوفير الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للطلاب تم إجراء دراسة ميدانية شملت مجموعة من المدارس الخاصة في عمان حيث تم جمع البيانات من خلال استبيانات ومقابلات مع المدرسين والاداريين وأولياء الامور اظهرت النتائج ان تطبيق استراتيجيات الادارة المدرسية الفعالة يمكن ان يقلل من تفاوت الذكاءات بين الطلاب مما يؤدي الى تحسين الاداء الاكاديمي بشكل عام يوصي البحث بتبني سياسات تعليمية تدعم التنوع في الذكاءات وتعزز من تكافؤ الفرص التعليمية لتحقيق بيئة تعليمية اكثر شمولية وإنجازا.

“Overview of cochlear implant results among children in Kuwait”
 
Abstract :
The cochlear implant operation presented a wonderful opportunity to those with deep to severe hearing loss from various sources who were not responding to hearing aids. This study examined Kuwait’s infant cochlear implant programming and its case outcomes and implementation. Kuwaiti cochlear implant recipients who received speech therapy and device programming were studied.
The study found 177 files on children aged 2001–2013, picked at random for gender and nationality. About 95% of patients had bilateral severe to profound SNHL before surgery. The majority (112) were implanted on the right (63.3%), followed by the left (34.5%) and a tiny number (4.3%) on both sides. Mean age at implantation was 3.86±2.25, statistically significant with a p-value < 0.001. Neither gender nor nationality were statistically significant. Nucleus, MED-EL, and Advanced Bionics devices were used. The greatest percentages were Nucleus 145 (81.9%), Med-El (20.3%), and Advance Bionics (12.8%). After surgery, 51.5% of patients’ hearing thresholds were 31–45 dB, 39.8% were 10–30 dB, and 8.7% were over 45 dB in terms of speech discrimination score (SD), 37.1% scored 90% or higher, 13.6% scored 76%–90%, 9.1% scored 61%–75%, 7-8% had distorted speech, and 21.2% were still trilingual.
In conclusion with the results, the Kuwaiti team’s 2001 cochlear program proved successful. Families are upended when their children regain speech, finish school, and catch up to their classmates.

“The effect of using school management strategies to reduce the discrepancy in intelligence among students to enhance academic excellence in the first three grades in Amman.”

Abstract:

This research aims to explore how school management strategies impact reducing gaps in intelligence levels among students and thus enhancing academic excellence in private schools in Amman. The research revolves around studying the different administrative methods that can be used to achieve this goal, such as individualization of education, applying innovative educational techniques, and providing support. Psychologically and socially for students, a field study was conducted that included a group of private schools in Amman, where data was collected through questionnaires and interviews with teachers, administrators, and parents. The results showed that applying effective school management strategies can reduce the discrepancy in intelligence among students, which leads to significantly improving academic performance. General: The research recommends adopting educational policies that support diversity in intelligences and enhance equal educational opportunities to achieve a more comprehensive and accomplished educational environment.

“مدى توافر مهارات المستقبل في أنشطة مناهج الحلقة الثانية المطورة لمادة المهارات الموسيقية في سلطنة عمان(دراسة تحليلية)

ملخص البحث

هدفت الدراسة الحالية الى معرفة درجة توافر مهارات المستقبل في أنشطة مناهج الحلقة الثانية المطورة (الخامس، والسادس، والسابع) لمادة المهارات الموسيقية في سلطنة عمان، ولتحقيق ذلك استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، كما قامت بإعداد بطاقة تحليل محتوى  لقائمة  بمهارات المستقبل في ثلاثة مجالات رئيسية: المهارات الأساسية ،والمهارات التطبيقية، ومهارات التقنية، وتم التطبيق على عينة الدراسة المكونة من جميع أنشطة مناهج صفوف الحلقة الثانية (الخامس، السادس، السابع) المطورة، والبالغ عددها (84 نشاطاً)، وتوصلت الدراسة الى النتائج الآتية: توافر ((7 من مهارات المستقبل المحددة وفق الاطار الوطني لمهارات المستقبل من أصل ((14 مهارة، وبلغ عدد المهارات التطبيقية (152) بنسبة (93.25%) بين مهارات محددة ضمن الإطار الوطني لمهارات المستقبل ومهارات أخرى غير محددة. تليها المهارات العامة ((11 مهارة بنسبة (9.89%)، مع عدم توافر أي نشاط يتضمن لمهارات التقنية. والأنشطة لا تخدم وظائف المستقبل المتوقعة لسنة 2025.

The effectiveness of an experimental program based on science fiction to develop the skill of originality among second-grade students in the fine arts, and its impact on students’ attitudes towards the skill of originality
 

Abstract

The study aimed to measure the effect of a proposed experimental program based on science fiction to develop the skill of originality in the fine arts among second-grade students in the Sultanate of Oman, and to reveal the effect of the proposed experimental program based on science fiction to develop the skill of originality attributed to gender, and to measure its effect on developing positive attitudes towards the skill of originality. To achieve the study objectives, the research employed the quasi-experimental approach. The study materials and tools consisted of the proposed teaching unit and its implementation guide, the student activity booklet, the pre- and post-tests, and a questionnaire measuring the attitude towards the originality skill. After verifying the validity and reliability of the study materials and tools, they were applied to a sample of 112 male and female students, who were selected using the cluster sample method, using the simple random technique. The study results indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (a≤0.05) between the averages of students’ scores in the post-application to measure the originality skill between the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group. There were no differences in gender and originality skill at the significance level (a≤0.05) between males and females in the post-test of the experimental group. The study results also showed that the students’ positive attitudes towards the originality skill were large. The study recommended benefiting from the results of the pilot program in subjecting teachers to programs and training courses in order to develop teaching skills in science fiction to develop the skill of originality, and benefiting from innovative thinking tests in fine arts curricula and including activities, images and exercises in science fiction with second-grade students to develop the skill of originality. It also presented proposals for building and experimenting with training programs and designing curricula and editions of teacher guides in science fiction.

Challenges in Laparoscopic Total Hysterectomy and Left Salpingo-oophorectomy For Persistent Endometrial Atypical Hyperplasia: Incidental Bilateral Double Ureters – A Case Report

Abstract

Laparoscopic total hysterectomy and salpingo-oophorectomy are commonly performed procedures for the management of endometrial atypical hyperplasia, a precancerous condition of the uterine lining. However, the surgery can be complicated by unexpected anatomical variations, such as the incidental discovery of bilateral double ureters. This case report highlights the challenges and management strategies associated with this rare finding. The incidental finding of bilateral double ureters during the procedure presents a significant surgical challenge. This case report highlights the importance of intraoperative vigilance, precise surgical technique, and the ability to adapt to unexpected anatomical variations to ensure patient safety and successful outcomes. Further awareness and reporting of such cases are essential to refine surgical approaches and improve patient outcomes in the presence of such anomalies. Despite the complexity introduced by the double ureters and pelvic adhesions, the procedure was successfully performed without compromising ureteral integrity.

Attitudes toward Communication Skills among medical students
Abstract

This study explores medical students’ attitudes toward communication skills and the factors influencing these attitudes. It aimed to assess how students perceive the importance of communication skills in their medical education and practice, identify socio-demographic and educational factors affecting their attitudes, and evaluate the impact of these attitudes on their communication training outcomes. Using a survey with 179 medical students, the research found a varied range of attitudes, from strong support for the relevance of communication skills to skepticism about their practical value. Key factors influencing attitudes included gender, native language, and educational level. The study revealed that while some students recognized the importance of communication skills for effective patient care and teamwork, others struggled with the perceived relevance and time commitment of training. The results highlight the need for curriculum adjustments to address these challenges, recommending enhanced integration of communication skills training and tailored educational strategies to improve student engagement and proficiency.
